new Nokia Phone

Official certification for 2 new Nokia devices has been revealed from Russia, signaling that the company is set to expand its European phone family sooner than thought. This information has been revealed by Russian site Mobiltelefon.ru which is in line with past Nokia 6 releases.

This means that Nokia could be planning the launch of multiple new handsets within the next few weeks.

HMD: The New Home of Nokia

HMD Global

Nokia, once the biggest and best-known mobile phone manufacturer made a fatal mistake of agreeing to produce only Windows phones in 2011. After facing a huge loss following some tough competition from iPhone and Android, they packed up its mobile phone business and sold it to Microsoft in 2014.

The deal between Nokia & Microsoft ended in 2016. After that, a new Finnish company named HMD Global take over the license of ‘Nokia’ brand. So it’s still not quite Nokia as we know it. HMD Global now currently owns the rights to develop, build and sell Nokia-branded phones. It is also listed as the vendor for the new products, which would appear to confirm that the devices are legitimate.

Now with Android onboard, this could be the Nokia comeback we’ve been waiting for.

Nokia 8 Rumors

However, Qualcomm denies showing the Nokia 8 stating:

“We do not disclose details of our reference design. We’ve seen a few stories rumoring what we demonstrated in our CES booth to be a Nokia device. Those reports are not accurate, our 835 demos were on our own reference design devices, which we use to demo our latest Snapdragon SOCs every year,” said a Qualcomm spokesperson.
