Snacks

easy toaster oven recipes

Snacks are a quintessential part of my life and I’m guessing you love them too. Here are some easy to cook toaster oven recipes for snacks you can cook up in your house in a jiffy.

Garlic Kale Chips

With health being a great concern for people foods like Kale and asparagus have become a popular choice for snacks. Kale is one of those superfoods that everyone loves to consume and I am no different.

Kale has the largest amount of antioxidants of any other fruit or veggie, and it’s a great source of fiber, calcium, and iron. If you love Kale and want your snack to be healthy then this is a recipe you must try yourself. You can find the recipe here in the blog from Healthy Cent.

Baked Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes are soul food. Just baked sweet potatoes themselves taste fantastic. On top of that, it is jam-packed vitamin A. If you are baking sweet potatoes or yams in the conventional oven then it’s gonna take you over an hour with you having to preheat the oven.

But it will take you 45 minutes give or take a few minutes in a toaster oven combo. You can speed up the process if you cut the potatoes in half-inch think rounds. But if you are having whole potatoes then you need to poke holes into the potato otherwise it will explode.

You can check out interesting ways to bake sweet potatoes here in NomNomPaleo.

Roasted Baby Potatoes

While the sweet potatoes may take 45 minutes to bake baby potatoes only take around 25 minutes to cook entirely through.

Just add a little salt and pepper, some olive oil, and some herbs and then bake you are done. For a more detailed recipe check out TINY URBAN KITCHEN.

Parmesan Zucchini

You know most people think that Zucchini is bland well on its own maybe but trust me you can make an amazing Zucchini dish on your toaster oven.

All you need to do is just take some Zucchini and coat it in parm and broil it in the toaster with some olive oil and you have yourself a snack or an interesting side dish.

Apple Sauce Cornbread

So this is a cornbread recipe where you replace the fats in the recipe with applesauce. This is a very tasty cornbread recipe that you can easily cook in your toaster oven. This recipe also includes whole oats which makes it an extra dose of healthy.

Well, as healthy as cornbread can be that is. Make sure you use a smaller baking tray that fits perfectly in your toaster oven combo. The full recipe for this dish can be found in SparkRecipes.

Cheese and Tomato Crackers

So you don’t actually bake crackers in this recipe but you do need to use whole-grain crackers to make it. Just simply slice some tomatoes and put it on top of the cracker and spread some cheddar cheese.

After that broil, it until the cheese is melted and there you go you have your snack. Check out the full recipe on Snack Girl.

Roasted Balsamic Tomatoes

So this little treat is a great snack on its own but it works wonders as a side dish as well. If you can get yourself some nice ripe tomatoes you wouldn’t even need to use sugar.

Check out the full recipe on Cookstr.

Toasted Persimmon Slices

Persimmons are great fruits but on their own, they taste a bit bland. They taste amazing in salads. However, you can bring out their natural sweetness with some spices like ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, paprika.

You can use any spices you like but those yielded the best results for me. Just dust the slices with some of the spices and roast the slices. Then you can enjoy it with cheese or ice cream. You can find different ways Persimmons can be roasted in The Kitchn.

Baked Beans

This is the average American’s budget protein choice. However, the simple boiled beans just taste bland.

You can boil the beans and then bake them seasoning with salt, pepper, dill, tomato purée, and olive oil. You can check out a recipe for this at kruizing with kikukat.

Roasted Bananas with Rosemary

This is a sweet and savory snack that you can easily whip up in your toaster oven. Simply roast the bananas with some maple syrup, black pepper, sea salt, and fresh rosemary and a shot of bourbon.

It’s a tasty dish you will love making over and over again. You can find the recipe on Aveceric.

Desserts

toaster oven dessert recipes

Now with the snacks done, you may want to know how to make desserts. Well, there are plenty of amazing desserts you can whip up in your toaster oven. Here are some of the best dessert toaster oven recipes I have come across.

Single Peanut Butter Cookie

Well after dinner there must be a dessert right? But you don’t always want to put in a lot of effort into making a dessert. This is why you need an easy recipe to soothe your tongue after a hearty lunch or dinner.

Make a single cookie in your microwave toaster oven combo flavored with maple syrup, apple sauce, peanut butter, and vanilla. Check out the details of the recipe on Chocolate Covered Katie.

Broiled Grapefruit

A simple way to make a grapefruit dessert, all you need to do is to pop some grapefruit halves in the toaster oven.

You can have the fruit as is or douse it with a little sugar, honey, maple syrup, or cinnamon. A detailed recipe for this can be found in The Curvy Carrot.

Apple Crisp

This is a dessert that’s perfect for when its chilly outside. You can make the dish extra interesting if you serve it “A la Mode”. Also, there is a healthy way to make the crispy part of the dessert.

Just use whole-wheat flour and oats or if you are like me you can use a combination of the two. If you want to learn more about the recipe then check out All Recipes.

S’mores Banana

So this dessert tastes amazing but is very messy to make. So make sure before you go into the process you throw on a bib.

After that slice a banana lengthwise and fill the center with mini marshmallows, dark chocolate chips, and crushed graham crackers. After that wrap it up in foil and then cook in your toaster oven. You can check out the recipe in TBSP.

Roasted Figs

Figs are tiny fruits so the dessert itself is tiny as well. But trust me this indulgent dessert is a great way to end your feast. So to cook this dish just top the figs with some mascarpone cheese, honey, and cinnamon then bake/toast.

The cheese melts and the figs soften up and the taste is a flavor bomb. This is one of my most favorite desserts that I whip up whenever I can get my hands on some figs. You can serve them warm or cold. Here is a detailed recipe from Kobi’s Kitchen.

Flax Baked Apples

So all you need to do to make this dessert is core some apples slice them up and drizzle them with molasses and toss in some walnuts and flax seeds.

Then bake it until the apples are tender. After that, you are free to enjoy your delicious dessert. Here is a detailed recipe from A Kuk’s Kitchen.

Caramelized Mango With Rum

This dessert is not for anyone underage. This dessert is a bit boozy and will fulfill your craving for something rich indulgent and sweet. It is the perfect dessert and to be honest my favorite one to make.

You should take some mangos, slice them up and add some a little brown sugar and a light brushing of melted butter. When cooked just add a drizzle of spiced rum and serve with a healthy side of low-fat vanilla frozen yogurt. Here is a detailed recipe from Michael C. Y. Fei.

Easy Apple and Honey Tart

These tarts are pretty simple and easy to make. Plus they are low in fat content so you won’t have a hard time maintaining your diet. These small treats are like apple pie almost. To make them you need to take a tortilla and put some apple slices in then drizzle some honey and some cinnamon.

After that fold up the sides and use toothpicks to hold the sides together. Then cook the tarts till the honey is bubbling and the apples have tenderized. After that, all that’s left for you to do is enjoy it. Here is a detailed recipe for you to check out from DIY NewlyWeds

Grain-Free Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

These cookies are one of the healthiest dessert options out there. All you need to make this is almond flour, ground flax, coconut oil, honey, and raisins. You can swap raisins out for some nuts or dried fruits but that depends on your taste preference.

The reason to use flax here is that it helps hold the dough together. It takes on the consistency of egg when you mix with water. So you can have dough without using egg. I told you it was very healthy. You can find the details of the recipe here in Quick Left.

Stone-Fruit Mini Crisps

Trust me this isn’t any apple crisp you are used to. The best version of this uses pluots,  cherries, and peaches. But you can use any other stone fruit combination you prefer. I would suggest using honey or applesauce instead of sugar.

Also, try using whole-wheat or almond flour. This will make the dessert healthier and you can eat as much as you want without the guilt. If you are looking for a recipe for Stone-Fruit Mini Crisps then check out Center Stage Wellness.
