Jack by Podo Labs is a stylish Bluetooth adapter that makes any headphones wireless. Simply plug your headphones into the Jack and pair it with your phone. No more cords in the way while you enjoy music and videos on your devices.
Based in San Francisco, Podo Labs (est. 2013) is an expert in making user-friendly Bluetooth products. Previously they rose over $1M on Kickstarter with their Podo "Stick & Shoot" cameras. Jack by Podo Labs is a byproduct of their Bluetooth streaming and product design expertise.
Let's examine this new product:
How It Works
Jack by Podo Labs makes any headphones wireless. This tiny device brings Bluetooth capability to all of your audio devices. It even lets you sync headphones with a friend. It can serve up to 12 hours with its 3000 mAh battery. It has a micro USB port for recharging.
Just pair it with your required device via Bluetooth and you are ready to go on hands-free. You can also plug it into any speaker and play music from your smartphone – wirelessly.
It works in 3 modes -
- Receiving Mode: Send audio through any aux input, e.g. with standalone or car speakers.
- Sharing Mode: Share music or movies with a friend by splitting the audio. Requires two Jacks.
- Transmitting Mode: Send audio from any normal source to Bluetooth headphones or another Jack.
According to Podo Labs, “Jack is a relatively simple product in comparison to the Podo Camera, which we have developed and shipped since 2015. The primary components are the Bluetooth protocol, battery management, and user-focused design–areas we consider our strengths. There is no mobile application necessary with Jack, meaning ubiquitous device compatibility will be much simpler to achieve.”
